Vacancy Accredited Family Mediators
(self-employed)

We are seeking experienced and qualified Family Mediators to join our growing network on a self-employed basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional mediators who are passionate about helping families navigate separation, divorce, child arrangements, and financial matters in a supportive and impartial environment.

As a Self-Employed Family Mediator, you will:

  • Conduct mediation sessions for separating and divorcing couples.
  • Support clients in resolving issues relating to children, finances, and property.
  • Assess suitability for mediation through Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs).
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
  • Work in accordance with the Family Mediation Council (FMC) Code of Practice.
  • Participate in regular PPC (Professional Practice Consultant) group meetings and meet CPD FMC requirements.
  • Deliver a professional, empathetic, and client-focused service.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Family Mediator with FMC accreditation and willing to undertake legally aided mediation.
  • Registered with the Family Mediation Council.
  • Proven experience conducting family mediation sessions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
  • Experience preparing Open Financial Statements, Memorandums of Understanding, and Parenting Plans.
